The time I invested in searching for ways to shed the excess fat eventually bore fruit when I found the Cheat Your Way Thin diet. The interesting claim that captured my attention was that you can eat the stuff you like (even what got you in trouble) and still reduce those pounds. Intrigued, I decided to give it a shot. Having your favorite foods while on a diet? What was the catch?

I know lots of people would agree that diets are difficult because you have to give up eating the stuff you like. We all are very determined in the beginning, but it’s hard to stick to it when resisting temptations is a daily task. We begin to cheat by just tasting a little one of our favorite, to find that in a few days we can’t go on with the diet. So I thought something less restrictive which is also effective at the same time would be the ideal solution for me!

The Cheat Your Way Thin theory had me very skeptical at first. Who can believe that you can actually reduce fat while having aliments like doughnuts, bacon or fries? What an absurd idea! As I advanced in my research about it, however, it all started to get connected.

When you disallow all the foods that you currently really enjoy, you crave it even more and you end up just caving in after a while. That is why the very fact that this program allows you to go a little off track will contribute to keep you focused.

The idea of this plan is totally sensible when you think about it. On most other typical calorie controlled diets, you’re metabolism starts to reduce with less calories and as a result the body can go into Starvation Mode and hold onto the fat. That’s how going off track as per this diet can actually be beneficial, motivating our bodies to consume more calories, therefore reducing more fat.

Now, let’s keep put this into perspective though. Indeed, there’s an allowance for some cheating if you go for this diet, but this doesn’t mean you can do so indiscriminately. It’s the combination of rigorous low-calorie nutrition, exercise and the special treat days that is so effective.

More specifically, the diet works as follows:

Two Days: Low Carbohydrate meals

Two Days: Low GI meals

Two Days: High GI meals

1 treat day: Have what you want.

The diet is actually well planned and you will find the body actually gets what it requires in a more efficient way and best of all, you don’t have to starve yourself too.

Along with the diet you have access to a booklet detailing on the complete nutritional plan, the exercise that you should do and a lot of tips on how you can lose as much weight as you need. Since I was allowed to cheat, I never found myself craving and just giving up on the diet either. It has a great mix to the point that sometimes I forgot I was actually Dieting!

This is a well outlined plan that anyone can abide by. It comes with very clear directions as to what you need to do on a daily basis, enabling you to always be ready for what’s next. The chart is great to monitor your progress and really helps keep you motivated. I highly recommend this program especially if you are similar to me in that you find it hard to resist those mischievous ‘treats’ that you crave for. For one thing, it’s an original concept, but in the end… It’s simply effective!
